Manulife Financial to open Quebec City Group Benefits office

Quebec City – Manulife Financial is opening a new office to serve Group Benefits clients across Quebec.

“We have developed a solid business plan for further growing our presence in the province of Quebec,” said David O’Connor, Quebec Regional Manager, Manulife Group Benefits.

“Our Quebec City sales office officially opens this week and the sales and customer service team is already in place,” Mr. O’Connor continued. “This new team will solidify its business relationships with brokers and our local partners, and reiterate our commitment to grow our share of the Quebec market.”

As Canada’s third-largest provider of group life and health insurance (based on new annualized premiums), Manulife’s infrastructure allows it to offer unparalleled service to Quebec clients. More than 300 employees work in the Montreal office, serving more than 1,600 Quebec clients.

As part of an official opening February 26th, Manulife will make a charitable donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

In addition to personalized service and a local presence in Quebec City, Manulife offers plan sponsors, members and brokers, simple and efficient Internet tools. The Company’s secure Internet sites are constantly being improved: 70 per cent of Manulife customers have their plan electronically administered via the Web.

In 2001, Group Benefits launched a new version of its Web site designed for members, becoming the main provider of online group benefits services for more than four million Canadian employees and their dependents. Among options offered exclusively on Manulife’s members’ site are automatic benefit transfers and the possibility for members to obtain information concerning their coverage.

Group benefits brokers welcome the arrival of a new local insurer in Quebec City. For the past several months, sales have not stopped growing and comments from Manulife’s partners have been very positive.
