Manulife Announces New Senior Appointments

Hong Kong - Manulife Financial (stock code: 0945), a Canadian-based leading financial services provider, has announced the appointment of four senior executives in its Asian division.

Cliff Davis has been appointed Vice President, Human Resources, Asia, responsible for developing and implementing human resources policies, strategies, plans and programs to support the growth of Manulife’s business throughout Asia. Mr. Davis has more than 20 years of senior leadership experience in human resources management and is a veteran in formulating global human resources policies that are in concert with business needs. With 15 years of international exposure, 10 of which were focusedfocusing in on the Asia, region, Mr. Davis isspecializesd in directing human resources activities such as recruitment, development, assessment of talent, retention, compensation and salary planning, benefits and employee relations. Mr. Davis holds an MBA from the Washington University in the U.S.A. He is currently a member of theThe Conference Board’s China Human Resources Council and , theConference Board Asia Pacific Human Resources Council;, the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong; and the Employers’ Federation of Hong Kong.

Claire Forster has been promoted to Assistant Vice President, Human Resources, Asia, responsible for developing and managing executive and international compensation and benefits initiatives within the region. Ms. Forster also provides primary human resources consulting to Manulife’s management teams in the Philippines, Singapore, and Indonesia;, and the Actuarial and Finance Division of the firm’s regional office. Ms. Forster began her career as a human resources consultant for a renowned accountant firm. She joined Manulife Financial in 1997 as Resource Manager of Information Technology in the Canadian Division and was transferred to Hong Kong in 2001 to become Director of Human Resources, Asia. Ms. Forster holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Economics from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from the Wilfrid Laurier University, both in Canada.

Cliff Li has been promoted to Assistant Vice President and Counsel, Regional Counsel, Asia. Mr. Li currently provides legal support to Manulife Hong Kong for its individual insurance, group life and health businesses as well as agency operations. Mr. Li has been with Manulife for more than eight years, during which time he supported several life insurance initiatives that were important for Manulife’s growth and development in Hong Kong. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Li was a practising solicitor in Hong Kong. He holds a law degree from the University of Hong Kong.

Carrie Parker has been appointed Assistant Vice President, Systems Development, Regional Information Technology, Asia. She is responsible for managing the rollout of Manulife’s strategic core administration systems to all Asian territories and defining strategies for managing common- solutions delivery across the region.s. She aislso also in takes charge of facilitating the development of information- technology strategiesy and roadmaps for future- application delivery. Ms. Parker joined Manulife in Canada in 1975. Since then she has held various senior positions in multiple divisions in Canada and the U.S. In 1999, Ms. Parker was seconded to Manulife Japan as Assistant Vice President, Information Technology.
