Manulife Malaysia donates electrical items to Home for the Elderly
Kuala Lumpur – Manulife Insurance Berhad recently donated electrical goods to the Amitabha Old Folk’s Home in Kuala Lumpur to help improve the quality of life of the residents.
The donation, which included a much-needed washing machine and refrigerator, allowed the Amitabha Home to replace old items that were worn out. The items were presented by Manulife Malaysia Regional Head of Agency, Mr Teng Swee Hin to Amitabha Old Folk’s Home representative, Mr Oliver Lee.
During the cheer visit to the Home which was organized by Liang Swee Chet Agency, Manulife staff and agency members spent time chatting with the elderly residents and distributed goody bags consisting of food and face towels. The residents were later treated to a sumptuous lunch.
“For the elderly, it can be sad and lonely if they do not have family or friends visiting them here. We hope our visit here today will bring some cheer and reminds them that they are not forgotten” said Mr Teng.
“We thank Manulife for their kind assistance. We appreciate the effort they made to find out how they could help our home, which currently houses 41 residents. ” said Mr Lee. “The new washing machine and refrigerator would definitely be a great help to improve the living condition of the residents here.” continued Mr Lee.
About Amitabha Old Folks Home
Amitabha Old Folks Home is a non profitable organization that provides home to the less fortunate old folks people. The Home currently has 41 inmates. To keep the Home running, it depends greatly on charity and donations from well wishers.
