Manulife Financial promotes James Lin to General Manger of Manulife-Sinochem – Manulife’s China Operations Taipei – Manulife Financial is pleased to announce the promotion of James Lin to General Manager of Manulife-Sinochem Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (MSL) in China. Mr. Lin joined Manulife Financial in 2001 as Vice President, Regional Agency Development. He has made a strong contribution to Manulife over the past two years, particularly in China and Taiwan, where he played a key role in growing the agency distribution function and in strengthening the management teams in these two fast growing operations. “Mr. Lin’s promotion in part is in recognition of his impressive contribution to Manulife Taiwan,” said Michael Huddart, General Manager, Manulife Taiwan. “During his tenure, he played a significant role in helping to augment both sales and the size and quality of our agency force.” “As the newly appointed General Manger of MSL in China, Mr. Lin will be responsible for managing the strategy for growth and development of our business there,” said Marc Sterling, Senior Vice President of Regional Operations in Asia. “In December, we opened our first branch office in the city of Guangzhou and we have filed with the China Insurance Regulatory Commission, our application for our second branch to be in Beijng.
