Manulife USA launches new Section 457 plan sales tool kit and
MLI SolutionsSM module
-- Kit Offers Insight into Non-qualified Deferred Compensation for Non-profits --
Boston - As part of its ongoing campaign to provide financial advisors with the tools to help their clients, The Manufacturers Life Insurance Company (U.S.A) (Manulife USA) has introduced a new sales tool kit and MLI SolutionsSM module for Section 457 plans funded with life insurance. The Section 457 sales tool kit highlights the benefits of this non-qualified deferred compensation plan and introduces employers to a new way to attract top-level executives to non-profit organizations. Section 457 plans allow non-profits to provide additional retirement income to key, highly compensated employees, offering employers creative ways to recruit, retain, and reward their most valuable workers.
The tool kit contains a variety of sales materials and technical resources designed to help educate advisors who may be unfamiliar with the concepts of Section 457 plans. The Section 457 kit also provides a comprehensive sales strategy that explains basic features of these plans, prospecting information, and contrasts and comparisons of the two primary types of Section 457 plans, 457(b) eligible plans and 457(f) ineligible plans. In addition, the tool kit explains how life insurance may be used as a funding vehicle for these plans, providing tax-deferred accumulations and cost recovery via the tax-free death benefit.
