Investment Division Rotational Program

Manulife’s Investment Division is the asset management division responsible for investment management services of both Manulife’s General Account as well as assets for outside clients, principally institutional customers. Operating globally as MFC Global Investment Management, it is a leading global investment manager with offices in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Australia, Hong Kong and throughout Southeast Asia. MFC Global Investment Management manages a broad range of investments including equities, government and corporate bonds, real estate, mortgages, oil and gas, timber, agriculture and structured products.

The Investment Division offers a development program for recent university business graduates. This 24-month rotational program is designed to develop highly motivated individuals with a strong interest in financial services and markets. The goal of the program is to support the development of a broad array of skills for emerging investment professionals.

How the Program Works

Through assigned 6-month rotations, you will work with a variety of mentors and have the opportunity to gain a range of valuable experience in 4 functional areas of the Investment Division:

  • Portfolio Management
  • Investment Analysis
  • Marketing & Client Services
  • Support Functions / Back Office

These rotations are intended to maximize your opportunity to acquire technical knowledge and gain an appreciation of the diversity of the asset origination and asset management businesses within the context of a large global financial services firm.

Positions are recruited for during the on-campus program season from September to November.

Who Qualifies

To enter this program, you must be a recent Bachelor of Commerce (or equivalent) graduate. Enrollment in CFA, CSC or CIM programs is an asset but not essential. Your background also includes knowledge of investment/financial markets and accounting, financial or investment analysis techniques, along with a familiarity of a variety of financial products and services. A results-oriented and creative individual, you have strong communication, interpersonal, leadership and problem-solving skills. Solid computer experience using MS Office and a strong aptitude for learning new software packages round out your qualifications.
