Responsibilities
Provide analytical support on projects;
Assist with the preparation, coordination and analysis of management reports;
Communicate financial requirements and risks associated with projects;
Understand the risk and exposure of incorrect data.
Develop the key financial indicators necessary to manage a business unit;
Manage people within a department or team;
Provide analysis, testing and documentation support for given projects;
Ensure the integrity, accuracy and reliability of financial information that key decisions are based upon;
Provide commentary and have a strong understanding of the financials of the company;
Provide input to policies and processes in order to ensure that practices are compliant;
Ensure that an effective system of financial control is operational;
Be involved in the strategic direction of initiatives within the department/division.
Qualifications:
University degree and/or possess sufficient and relevant work experience;
Enrolled in, or in the later years of study for related qualifications (where applicable);
Ability to understand complex business requirements and to deliver appropriate solutions;
Strong computer skills;
Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication (oral and written) skills.
Industry designation(s) (where required);
Significant and progressive post-qualification experience;
Expert knowledge and skill gained through broad and deep employment experiences and extensive insurance and/or financial services experience;
Command of financial theories and principles;
Strong staff management and leadership skills including recruitment, training and development, delegation, motivation, negotiation and coaching;
Excellent financial analysis, project management, analytical and problem-solving, communication (written and oral), presentation, managerial and interpersonal skills.
