John Hancock Provides Plan Sponsors Best–in–Class Service

  • John Hancock Retirement Plan Services outperforms industry benchmark across all 21 categories

Boston– In a survey conducted by Chatham Partners, John Hancock Retirement Plan Services (JHRPS) rated as the best-in-class provider in more than 70% of the categories in Chatham’s benchmark universe. JHRPS outperformed the industry benchmark in every category. The survey measured a range of plan sponsor satisfaction results in categories including: Plan Sponsor Services, Participant Services, TPA Plan Services, Investment Services, Loyalty and Overall Satisfaction.

The study highlighted the success of John Hancock Retirement Plan Services’ client-focused service model which provides 401(k) plans with senior, highly trained and account-dedicated service representatives. This dedicated model is one of the cornerstones of the JHRPS service offering and has been a key component of its plan service offering.

The study also found that plan sponsors consistently reported higher satisfaction with JHRPS service as compared to 401(k) providers who offered a traditionally bundled model. “These outstanding results speak to the excellence of our service team, our TPA partners and John Hancock’s team approach to servicing our plan sponsor clients. Working together, we can offer the best of local service and national scale,” said Steven McCormick, Senior Vice President, Operations.

JHRPS is known within the 401(k) industry for offering an exclusively unbundled service model that operates with support from independent pension consultants, or Third Party Administrators. JHRPS is the only major 401(k) provider to work exclusively with the unbundled service model.
