Hong Kong — Manulife (International) Limited (MIL) has again won the Trusted Brands Gold Award for the insurance company category in Hong Kong organized byReader’s Digest. This is the fourth consecutive year that Manulife has received this prestigious award, which is based on the results of the Reader’s Digest annual Asia-wide Consumer Brand Preference survey. Reader’s Digest held an award presentation ceremony on April 24, 2007 to honour the brands in different product categories that are most trusted by consumers in Hong Kong.

The Reader’s Digest “Trusted Brands 2007 Awards” is based on the annual Consumer Brand Preference survey conducted independently by Nielsen Media Research that covers seven key Asian cities. A total of 7,000 responses generated from mailed questionnaires and telephone interviews were analysed, in which consumers were asked to name their most trusted brand in each of 43 product categories. Brand attributes were then evaluated on a five-point rating scale in terms of trustworthiness, credible image, innovation, quality, value and understanding of customer needs. Manulife winning the “Gold Award” again means that it once again scored high in consumer ratings for all of the above key brand attributes.
The Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands Gold Award (previously known as Reader’s Digest Super Brands Award) was launched in 1999 and has been carried out annually for the past eight years to identify the brands that most appeal to affluent Asian consumers.
