Manulife Indonesia announces major sales and marketing thrust of unit–linked products in Banda Aceh

Banda Aceh – PT Asuransi Jiwa Manulife Indonesia (Manulife Indonesia) Banda Aceh Branch announced today its plans to launch a strong sales drive of its unit-linked product portfolio, citing market potential in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam as the reason for the thrust. Unit-linked products have both life insurance and investment elements

“Sales of unit-linked products in Indonesia are experiencing a strong upward trend and we plan to capitalize on this momentum in Banda Aceh, a market we see as ripe with potential for this type of product,” said David Beynon, Manulife Indonesia President Director, at a press conference in Banda Aceh. “Unit-linked products offer our customers life insurance coverage with the added advantage of an investment vehicle to make their hard-earned money work for them.”

Mr. Beynon, speaking about the company’s newest marketing initiative, was in Banda Aceh today to host a special customer appreciation gathering and visit the city’s two Manulife schools, SDN 25 Manulife and SDN 28 Manulife. He was accompanied by Nelly Husnayati (EVP & Chief Agency Officer), Penny Djatnika (VP Agency North Star Territory) and Patrick Atkins (Agency Director).

Max Link product offers numerous long-term investment options
Manulife Indonesia’s Max Link product further rounds out the Company’s investment-link portfolio for customers in Banda Aceh. The Max Link product enables investors to enjoy the benefits of long-term investing in equity markets, with the added bonus of an insurance component.

“Manulife’s Max Link was developed for customers to build investment portfolios that generate optimal investment returns with a risk level of their choosing,” said Ms. Husnayati.

The Max Link product has three plan options available: Silver (Single Premium, IDR 30-100 million); Gold (IDR 100-250 million); and, Platinum (IDR 250 million – 1 billion). Investors can choose one or a combination of investment options according to their financial goals, such as Equity, Corporate Fixed Income, State Fixed Income, Dollar Fixed Income, and Money Market Fund. All funds in this program are managed by leading investment manager, PT Manulife Aset Manajemen Indonesia (MAMI).

Max Link also offers a number of attractive features, including: 1) optimal investment; 2) wider access to equity markets; 3) freedom to choose the most suitable investment instruments; 4) an insurance package that offers death, accidental death and six critical illnesses benefits; and, 5) no medical screenings.

“For optimal protection and investment, Max Link is the most prudent choice,” said Ms. Husnayati.

Manulife provides much-needed assistance to schools
On the occasion of the management visit to Banda Aceh, Manulife Indonesia through MANULIFE PEDULI once again distributed aid in the form of school essentials such as uniforms, backpacks, and writing tools to students of both Manulife schools in Banda Aceh – SDN 25 Manulife and SDN 28 Manulife. This donation of goods represents the Company’s ongoing social concern for the Aceh community, and in particular, its caring commitment to the students and teachers of the two schools.

“Manulife is known as a pioneer in the “support school” concept within the life insurance industry,” said Mr. Beynon. “We are very proud of our commitment to improving education for children in Banda Aceh and believe the Manulife schools have set a positive example of the active role that the private sector can play in raising the quality of education in this city.”
