Consumer vote of confidence for Manulife

Insurer wins Hong Kong service award and emotive-brand recognition for 10th and 6th time respectively

Hong Kong
- Manulife has emerged as the winner of two prestigious awards: Next Magazine’s Top Service Award 2009, in the category “Insurance Companies — Personal Financial Planning”, and in the insurance section of the Yahoo! Hong Kong Emotive Brand Awards.

The Next Magazine award took Manulife’s record in this poll into double figures — the company has now collected a remarkable 10 such Top Service Awards. While the Yahoo! Hong Kong accolade was being bestowed for an impressive sixth time.

Commented Michael Huddart, Manulife’s Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer, Hong Kong: “They say that nothing succeeds like success and we seem to be proving it. I promise you that we shall never tire of picking up awards such as these for not only do they serve to underline the efficacy of our consistent commitment to quality and service excellence, but they spur us on to aspire to even greater achievements in the future.”

The Next Magazine citation, in one of 20 award categories, was arrived at through a public voting process. The awards aim to recognise companies that have provided the best level of service according to consumers, and to enhance awareness of the importance of top-quality service in all sectors of the marketplace.

Yahoo! Hong Kong Emotive Brand Awards, on the other hand, set out to find the products and services “most beloved” by the public and thus increase recognition of the important role played by quality as a key to Hong Kong’s bid to remain a major international business hub.

The Nielsen Company nominated outstanding brands in some 26 categories and online voting ran from mid-May until early June.

“With consumers these days looking for companies that they can trust, this regular award recognition over the years is testament to the quality and professional services that have given them such confidence in Manulife,” added Mr. Huddart.
