Hai Phong City – In support of the launch of the charity program "Compassionate Shelter" by Vietnam Women’s Union, Manulife Vietnam has proudly donated VND 50 million to the Women’s Union chapter in Hai Phong city.
This donation will be used to build five compassionate houses for underprivileged members of the Hai Phong Women’s Union, in five poor districts of Hai Phong city.
“To Manulife, being a good corporate citizen is part of our corporate culture. Since its inception in 1999, Manulife Vietnam has been a major contributor to many charitable and social programs with the aim of improving the quality of peoples’ lives in the communities where it does business,” said David Wong, CEO & General Director of Manulife Vietnam, at the donation ceremony today. “This donation, which aims to help underprivileged women alleviate their housing difficulties, provides us another opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the communities that have loyally supported our business over the past ten years, and once again demonstrates our long-term commitment to ‘bringing dreams to life’ for Vietnamese people,” he added.
Manulife Vietnam has recently won a prestigious accolade “Top Company Caring for the Community” awarded by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Vietnam Press Association to recognize its ongoing commitment and outstanding contribution to the local community for over a decade.
