Bandung - Manulife Indonesia, through its Bandung district office, is linking up with the Evergreen Hash House Harriers (HHH) to sponsor a cross country running event for approximately 2,000 people on October 25, 2009 in Lembang, West Java.

Participants include customers, agents and employees of Manulife Indonesia, and Evergreen HHH members. This is the first time that Manulife Indonesia has sponsored a sporting event of this scale in Indonesia.  Besides running, the participants will also be able to enjoy tai chi, line dancing and aerobics.

This activity aims to increase brand awareness of Manulife Indonesia in Bandung, where the life insurance company operates a sales office, as well as helping to promote the benefits of exercise through sports such as cross country running.

As part of its sponsorship, Manulife Indonesia will also donate 20 pairs of desks and chairs and 100 school bags to 2 elementary schools - SDN 3 Wangunsari and SDN 2 Cibogo - in Lembang to mark the event.

David Beynon, Manulife Indonesia’s President Director, praised the activity. “As part of our commitment to ‘Bringing Dreams to Life’ and to celebrate 14th Evergreen HHH Anniversary, we are proud to support this activity dedicated to the Bandung and Lembang society,” he said. “We also would like to thank Evergreen HHH for the opportunity to work with them on this exciting event. We hope this activity will increase people’s awareness of the benefits of exercise as part of a healthy life style,” Beynon added.

The event will be attended by David Beynon, Adi Purnomo, Vice President Director and Chief Operating Officer, Nelly Husnayati, Executive Vice President and Chief Agency Officer, Benny M.
