One month into Manulife-Sinochem’s new Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, and agents volunteering to help have sold more than 10,000 “Love Umbrellas” to raise 400,000 RMB. 

In 30 cities across China, special events were staged to sell umbrellas to raise money to assist children with hearing loss in poor areas of Sichuan province. Clients and Manulife-Sinochem staff actively bought umbrellas to show their support for the deaf children in need in Sichuan.

“I have participated in Manulife-Sinochem’s annual CSR event for two years. I want to help the deaf children, and I hope there will be more companies taking care of the disabled,” one customer said.

During one fund-raising event, one Manulife-Sinochem agent from Sichuan stole the show. Ms. Gao Yuhan was voted the "most beautiful smile” at the event and easily sold 30 “Love umbrellas”. She said, “Love brings dreams to life. And if we give a little more effort, we can help deaf children realize their dreams.”

The hard work contributed by agents at the umbrella events helped make the program successful. The agents who joined have committed to continuing to help deaf children realize their dreams.
