Manulife joined Chumchonthai Foundation to make our community greener

Bangkok- The management, staff and agents of Manulife Insurance (Thailand) Public Company Limited have joined forces with the Chumchonthai Foundation, a Thai non-profit organization that helps build awareness of environmental care and protection, to plant 999 trees as part of a Plant Conservation Project in Samutsakorn Province on November 27, 2009.

In addition to sponsoring the 999 trees – 9 is a lucky number in Thailand indicating progress in life – Manulife Thailand is also donating an additional 30,000 baht to the project.

The tree planting is one of Manulife’s Green Campaigns aiming to make our community greener under the “Love Life Live Green” concept, as well as encouraging people to realize the importance of environmental care.

Mr. Christopher Teo, President and Chief Executive Officer of Manulife Thailand, said: “This is another social project through which Manulife hopes to improve the community’s quality of life, by focusing on society’s most needy. Our overall objective is to help educate people in the community about the importance of environmental care and protection. A tree is a great symbol of future growth and we hope to help make the future a little better and greener for the community.”
