Manulife Announces Investment in Pillway

Manulife Financial Corp. today announced a minority investment in Simpill Health Group Inc., operating as Pillway, a Canadian-based virtual pharmacy. This investment reflects Manulife’s commitment to accelerating digital pharmacy services and ensuring Canadians have more choice and digital access to pharmacy services.

Pillway provides Canadians with convenient prescription delivery and access to pharmacists and healthcare professionals through its digital platform. As more Canadians turn to online solutions for everyday needs, virtual pharmacies like Pillway offer an additional option for safe, reliable and convenient medication management. Through its services, including personalized packaging, digital tools and direct pharmacist access, Pillway aims to improve medication adherence across Canada, helping ensure that patients take their medications as prescribed and achieve better health outcomes.

For eligible members, Pillway will be available through the Manulife mobile app and the plan member website.  Manulife Group Benefits members can continue to choose the pharmacy that best meets their needs when it comes to filling their prescriptions.

As part of this investment, Ashesh Desai, Head of Group Benefits at Manulife Canada, will join Pillway’s Board of Directors.
