Christian Deckart was Portfolio Manager at Mawer Investment Management Ltd., which he joined in 2013. He was the lead manager of Manulife Global Equity Class and Manulife Global Equity Private Pool, and co-manager of Manulife Global Balanced Fund and Manulife Global Private Trust. Previously, Mr. Deckart worked in Zurich, Switzerland, as a Portfolio Manager for a European Family Office and as an Equity Analyst at an investment boutique. During his time in Switzerland, he mainly focused on investments in European and North American equities. Prior to this, he was a small/mid-cap Equity Analyst at Merrill Lynch in London, UK, and at Commerzbank in Frankfurt, Germany. He began his career in 1997 with an apprenticeship at Bankhaus Reschel & Co. in Munich, Germany. Mr. Deckart was a joint recipient of Investment Executive’s 2019 Fund Manager of the Year award. Mr. Deckart received a Ph.D. and a Diploma in Law from the University of Augsburg, Germany and is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.
