Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
To access Healthcare Online, begin by confirming it’s included in your benefits plan. If it is, you will be able to access the service right from the Manulife Mobile app or plan member site. Check your benefits:
- From Manulife Mobile app: Sign in and click on the ‘Get care’ tab. Under ‘Services available to you’, click on ‘Medical health’. If coverage exists, the ‘Virtual healthcare’ tile appears and indicates it’s “Covered”.
- From the plan member site: Click on the ‘Check benefits’ button at the top of this page. Once logged in, go to the ‘Get care’ tab and look for ‘Virtual healthcare’ (it may be under ‘Healthcare services’ – depending on your access).
Yes. Once you’re registered, you can use the TELUS Health platform to invite eligible family members. Children under 16 (14 in Quebec) are added under your profile; older dependants and spouses can be set up separately with help from live care support through the chat feature. Invitations are sent by email.
Healthcare Online is an employer-paid service, so there is no cost to you or your eligible dependants if it’s part of your benefits plan. Some non-medical services, such as a sick note, may have a fee associated as per standard practice in Canada.
Yes. Healthcare Online is available across Canada and can be accessed wherever you have an internet connection.
No. Healthcare Online is designed to complement your regular health care providers, not replace them. With your consent, notes from your virtual visits can be shared with your family doctor.
Yes. Your personal health information is protected. All text messages and video consults are end‑to‑end encrypted. Your information and reasons for using the service are never shared with your employer.
Only you and the approved clinicians or individuals you have consented to receive information will have access to your health information. If you choose to, you may share notes from your virtual consultations with your family doctor.
Healthcare Online is not intended for medical emergencies. If you’re experiencing an emergency, call 911 or visit your local hospital.
