Iraz Soyalp, Ph.D.,
Senior Director, Social Impact
Iraz leads social and people-related sustainability initiatives in investments and operations within Manulife Investment Management’s private market asset classes, including timberland, agriculture, real estate, infrastructure, private equity, and private credit. Her role involves developing guidance and tools for human rights due diligence in line with international standards, supporting the development of social impact-focused financial products, and informing stewardship and asset management activities. Prior to joining Manulife IM, she was a Senior Manager at Deloitte, where she led the social impact practice. Before that, Iraz worked at several international organizations, including the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the International Labor Organization (ILO), and Right to Play. Her expertise spans building partnerships with industry associations and community-based organizations, assessing the impact of social impact programs, and advising organizations on incorporating social impact and human rights considerations into their business operations.
Iraz was also an adjunct professor at the University of Toronto and is a board director at Oxfam Canada.
