Philip Witherington
President & CEO
Phil Witherington was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Manulife, one of the largest insurance and asset management companies in the world, on May 8, 2025.
Prior to this appointment, Mr. Witherington was President and Chief Executive Officer, Manulife Asia, and before that he served five years as Chief Financial Officer at Manulife. As Chief Financial Officer he was responsible for managing Manulife’s global financial affairs and successfully led the implementation of IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 at Manulife. Mr. Witherington joined Manulife in 2014 as Chief Financial Officer of Manulife Asia and served as its Interim President and Chief Executive Officer in 2017. He has been a member of Manulife’s Executive Leadership Team since 2018.
Mr. Witherington has more than 25 years of experience in insurance and financial services, globally, and in developed and emerging markets within Asia. Prior to joining Manulife, Mr. Witherington led finance in Asia Pacific for the Retail Banking and Wealth Management business at HSBC and earlier served as the Deputy Regional Chief Financial Officer for its Asian insurance businesses. Previously, Mr. Witherington was Vice President Finance at AIA, based in Hong Kong. He also spent a decade with KPMG in London and Hong Kong, specializing in financial services audit and advisory services, with a particular focus on financial services clients.
Mr. Witherington is deeply committed to fostering positive change in the communities where Manulife operates. Under his leadership, Manulife continues to advance initiatives and thought leadership that promote lifelong health, financial resilience, sustainability, and inclusive growth.
Mr. Witherington holds an Executive MBA jointly awarded by the University of Edinburgh Management School (United Kingdom) and the École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (Paris, France). He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (FCA) and the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FCPA).
Michael F. Coyne
General Counsel
Michael Coyne is General Counsel of Manulife overseeing the global legal, compliance, government relations and corporate secretary functions. He joined Manulife in September 2025 and is a member of Manulife’s Executive Leadership Team and Global Leadership Team.
Before joining Manulife, Mike served as Senior Fellow and Litigation Strategy Advisor at The Bank Policy Institute (BPI), a leading non-partisan advocacy and policy think tank for the world’s largest banking organizations. Prior to BPI, Mike served as General Counsel and Senior Legal Officer for the Americas for Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), and was also an Executive Officer of Tokyo-headquartered MUFG and its commercial bank subsidiary, MUFG Bank Ltd.
Mike’s legal career spans more than two decades at JPMorgan Chase, where he rose to become Global Co-Head of Litigation, Governmental Investigations, and Employment Law.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Arts from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Doctor of Law (JD) from the Boston College Law School. He serves on the Advisory Board of Honors Carolina at UNC and on the Board of Directors of the Urban Justice Center in New York City.
Stephanie Fadous
Chief Actuary
Stephanie Fadous is Manulife’s Chief Actuary, overseeing the Actuarial function globally. She is also a member of the company’s Executive Leadership Team and Global Leadership Team.
Stephanie is an accomplished finance and actuarial professional who previously held the position of Global Treasurer and Head of Capital Management. In this role, she oversaw the capital position of the company’s global operations, ensuring prudent capital management across all of Manulife’s international operations. She led global funding initiatives and managed key relationships with rating agencies, banks, and fixed-income investors.
Stephanie joined Manulife in 2005 and has since led significant initiatives, including the global implementation of IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 standards. Her diverse experience spans Group Actuarial, Corporate Development, and Asset Liability Management.
An active member of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, Stephanie has served on multiple committees and chaired the Committee on Life Insurance Financial Reporting. She is a Fellow of both the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and the Society of Actuaries and holds a BSc in Actuarial Science.
Steven Finch
President & CEO, Manulife Asia
Steve Finch is the President & Chief Executive Officer of Manulife Asia, overseeing operations throughout Manulife’s Asia franchise, which includes Hong Kong and Macau, Chinese Mainland, Japan, Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Cambodia, Myanmar and the International High Net Worth business. Steve has been with Manulife for over 30 years and has been a member of Manulife’s Executive Leadership team since 2016.
Steve served as Manulife’s Chief Actuary, overseeing Actuarial, Risk and Life Reinsurance functions globally, before taking on his current role. A proven leader across functional and commercial areas of Manulife’s business, he contributed significantly to the company’s transformation and financial performance through numerous historic transactions and played a key role in Manulife’s transition to IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 accounting standards.
Steve had previously held the role of Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer at John Hancock, where he oversaw the overall financial management of Manulife’s U.S. operations. Prior to this, he was also the Executive Vice President and General Manager for John Hancock’s life insurance business, wherein he managed all aspects of the individual life insurance business in the U.S., including Sales, Distribution, Marketing, Product, Information Technology, New Business and Customer Service Operations and Finance.
Steve is a graduate of Queen’s University and holds a B.ScH in Statistics. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries.
Pragashini Fox
Chief People Officer
Pragashini Fox is Manulife’s Chief People Officer. She joined the organization in January 2025 and is responsible for overseeing the company’s Global People and Communications functions.
Prior to joining Manulife, Pragashini served as the Head of Talent and Diversity, and Head of HR for Product, Operations, and Technology at Thomson Reuters. She also held several leadership positions in HR at the Royal Bank of Canada, including various leadership roles in Executive Compensation, Talent Management and Leadership Development, and as the Head of HR for Technology, along with HR roles supporting Operations, Capital Markets, Insurance, and Group Functions.
From 2015 to 2023, she served as a Member of the Board for Ascend Canada.
She holds a Bachelor of Science from York University and Executive Education in Talent Management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Rahim Hirji
Chief Auditor
Rahim Hirji leads Manulife’s internal audit function as Chief Auditor and Head of Advisory Services. Mr. Hirji has more than 25 years of experience with Manulife and is a member of the Company’s Executive Leadership Team and Global Leadership Team.
Prior to leading the audit function, Mr. Hirji was our Chief Risk Officer for more than 11 years, responsible for all matters of risk in our global insurance and wealth management businesses. Prior to that, he held various roles in the Company including Chief Financial Officer for our Canadian Segment, the Head of Manulife’s Global Asset Liability Management Operations, leading financial modelling of our mergers and acquisitions, and various other actuarial roles.
Mr. Hirji graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Mathematics and is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, the Society of Actuaries, and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
Naveed Irshad
President & CEO, Manulife Canada; Global Head, Inforce Management and Group Reinsurance
Naveed Irshad leads Manulife Canada which includes retail insurance and annuities, group benefits, affinity market, and Manulife Bank, and oversees global Inforce Management and Group Reinsurance. He drives growth in the Canadian market, helping Canadians improve their financial, physical, and mental health. His global mandate reflects deep expertise in optimizing inforce portfolios, reinsurance, and strategic leadership across markets.
Naveed Irshad is a member of Manulife’s Executive Leadership Team with over 30 years of experience in the global life insurance industry. He serves as President and CEO of Manulife Canada, and also leads Inforce Management and Group Reinsurance globally, reflecting his deep expertise in managing complex insurance portfolios and driving strategic growth across markets.
Prior to his current role, Naveed was Global Head of Inforce Management and Head of Manulife’s North American Legacy Business, where he led initiatives to enhance the profitability and risk profile of the inforce portfolio. He also served as President & CEO of Manulife Singapore, overseeing the development of operations across all business segments and distribution platforms. Earlier in his career, he held a key leadership position at a major reinsurance company, focusing on global business and product development.
He holds a B.Sc. in Actuarial Mathematics from Concordia University. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA), and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA). Active in both his community and the industry, Naveed serves on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Life & Health Insurance Association (CLHIA) and Squash Ontario, and is a member of the President’s Advisory Group at Concordia University.
Rahul Joshi
Chief Operations Officer
Rahul Joshi is Chief Operations Officer at Manulife. In this role, Mr. Joshi oversees the Company’s global operations and global procurement organizations. He is a member of the Company’s Executive Leadership Team.
Prior to joining Manulife, Rahul was the Senior Vice President of Customer Care for Walmart’s US eCommerce organization, which included responsibility for contact centers, fraud operations and the customer returns experience. Under his leadership, the business significantly expanded customer contact channels through innovation, improved fraud loss performance, and enhanced the returns experience for online purchases, all during a period of high growth.
Previously, he held a range of large operating, customer experience and digital transformation roles with Citi across several geographies. Rahul served as Chief Operations Officer for the company’s Asia/EMEA Consumer bank located in Singapore, and prior to that was Chief Operations Officer for the US Consumer and Commercial bank.
Rahul holds a Master of Science in Management from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pune, India.
Trevor Kreel
Chief Investment Officer
Trevor Kreel is Chief Investment Officer for Manulife Financial Corporation and oversees all U.S., Canadian and Asian general account investments, as well as management of all investment related risks.
Manulife’s investment portfolio is composed of fixed income investments and non-fixed income investments, with a hallmark of the investment group being its expertise in private asset classes. Within fixed income, the group underwrites and originates private placement debt and commercial mortgages. Within non-fixed income, the group manages commercial real estate, timber, agriculture, infrastructure, oil & gas, energy transition, private equity, and mezzanine investments.
Previously, Mr. Kreel held the position of Global Head of Portfolio Management, a position he assumed in 2012, where he was responsible for Portfolio Management of the U.S., Canadian and Asia General Account assets, as well as short term Treasury trading and the Global Variable Annuity Hedging program. Prior to this role, Trevor led the Global Asset Liability Management group, with responsibility for managing investment related risks and setting appropriate investment strategies for all Manulife's global businesses.
Since joining Manulife in 1995, he has also been the CFO of the Hong Kong business unit and prior to that was Vice President, Regional Actuarial in Hong Kong for three years. He also led the Structured Reinsurance group within Manulife’s Reinsurance Division and had a variety of financial roles within the US Insurance business unit.
Mr. Kreel received a Bachelor of Business Science degree and Post Graduate Diploma in Actuarial Science from the University of Cape Town. He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Actuaries, the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and the Society of Actuaries in the U.S
Karen Leggett
Global Chief Marketing Officer
Karen Leggett is Global Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at Manulife and is a member of the Executive Leadership Team. In this role, Karen leads our Marketing, Innovation, Digital, and Analytics efforts globally. She oversees our customer experience transformation, partnering with Global Technology and Operations.
Before joining Manulife, Karen most recently served as a Global Client Partner at Ernst & Young in the firm’s Financial Services Advisory practice. Prior to that, she was the Chief Marketing Officer at National Bank of Canada also leading Digital, Analytics, Innovation, and Corporate Development in emerging markets. She has held several senior positions at RBC, including leading two of its largest retail businesses; mortgages as well as payments and credit cards. Karen started her career at Great-West Life, working in a range of roles over a decade with the company.
Karen holds an Executive MBA from Richard Ivey School of Business and a Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia University.
Paul Lorentz
President & CEO, Global Wealth and Asset Management
Paul Lorentz is President & CEO of Global Wealth and Asset Management at Manulife. In this role, he has direct oversight over our wealth and asset management business, including our retirement, retail and asset management solutions offered worldwide.
Paul is accountable for creating stronger global alignment by bringing these areas together into one single global organization and is a member of Manulife’s Executive Leadership Team. Prior to this role, Paul served as General Manager of Individual Wealth Management and Insurance for the Canadian Division, overseeing Manulife Investments, Manulife Securities, Manulife Private Wealth, and Manulife Insurance. In this role, he was responsible for delivering industry leading advice, investment, and insurance solutions to Canadians. Paul joined Manulife in 1993 and has held a variety of roles of increasing responsibility throughout our Canadian operations.
Paul graduated from the University of Waterloo with a B. Mathematics, is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and is a graduate of the Queen’s Leadership Program.
Although his career has been fast moving, Paul is well known for the time he takes to devote to his family, coaching colleagues, and supporting community charities.
Colin Simpson
Chief Financial Officer
Colin Simpson is Chief Financial Officer of Manulife and a member of Manulife’s Executive Leadership Team. He is responsible for managing Manulife’s global financial affairs, including finance, accounting, capital, treasury, taxation, investor relations and financial regulation.
Prior to this appointment, Colin served as Chief Financial Officer for John Hancock, joining the company in 2022. He brings over 20 years of experience to his role, including at Aviva from 2013-2022, where he was most recently Interim Group CFO and prior served as CFO of Aviva’s Canadian division and Aviva’s Director of Investor Relations.
Previously, Colin held executive roles at Goldman Sachs and Bear Stearns Investment Bank, where he was an equity analyst covering the European insurance sector. Earlier in his career, Colin held actuarial roles at the Reinsurance Group of America and Gen Re.
Colin holds a BSc in Statistics from the University of Cape Town and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (FIA).
Brooks Tingle
President & CEO, John Hancock
Brooks Tingle is President and Chief Executive Officer of John Hancock, the U.S. segment of Toronto-based Manulife Financial Corporation. He also is a member of Manulife’s Executive Leadership Team.
Mr. Tingle, who is based in Boston, leads John Hancock — one of the largest life insurers in the United States, supporting more than ten million Americans with a broad range of financial products, including life insurance and annuities. John Hancock also supports US investors through a separate Global Wealth and Asset Management business, bringing leading investment capabilities and retirement planning and administration expertise to individuals and institutions.
Before taking on his current role in 2023, Mr. Tingle served as President and CEO of John Hancock Insurance. Notably, he led John Hancock to embrace and implement the company's now market-leading behavioral insurance solution — John Hancock Vitality — which offers life insurance customers significant savings and rewards for taking everyday steps towards a longer, healthier, better life. Previously, Mr. Tingle held various leadership roles across Marketing, Strategy, and Operations for John Hancock Insurance, building strong advanced analytics capabilities and overseeing new business, underwriting, claims, information technology, policy administration, customer service, and reinsurance administration.
Mr. Tingle serves as President and Chairman of the boards for John Hancock’s insurance companies, including John Hancock Life Insurance Company (U.S.A.) and John Hancock Life Insurance Company of New York. Additionally, he is a member of the boards of the American Council of Life Insurers and LL Global, and serves on the Tufts Nutrition Council for the Gerald J. and Dorothy R. Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy.
He received an MBA from Boston University and a B.A. in Economics from the University of New Hampshire.
Halina von dem Hagen
Chief Risk Officer
Halina von dem Hagen is Chief Risk Officer at Manulife. In this role, Ms. von dem Hagen is responsible for the Company’s Global Risk Management organization that oversees risks across the enterprise. She is a member of the company’s Executive Leadership Team.
In her previous role as Manulife’s Global Treasurer and Head of Capital Management, Ms. von dem Hagen was in charge of the capital position of the company’s global operations. She developed and executed global funding programs and managed relationships with rating agencies, banks, and fixed income investors. Her international expertise on capital matters was recognized through her selection in 2019 to the Insurance Policy Advisory Committee of the U.S. Federal Reserve Board where she served for 4 years.
Ms. von den Hagen joined Manulife in 2007 from Royal Bank of Canada where she spent 12 years in senior roles in the areas of treasury and risk management. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto in international and monetary economics and is an alumna of Massey College.
Shamus Weiland
Global Chief Information Officer
Shamus Weiland is the Chief Information Officer for Manulife and is a member of Manulife’s Executive Leadership Team.
As Chief Information Officer and a member of Manulife’s Executive Leadership Team, Shamus oversees the Company’s Technology function and ensures that our technology strategy aligns with our global businesses to deliver value while optimizing our technology footprint and costs to achieve our ambition to be a digital customer leader in our industry.
Shamus joined Manulife in 2019 after working as Managing Director, North America Consumer Technology Head at Citigroup for retail bank, mortgage, commercial bank, and credit cards. Shamus also served as CIO for Citi’s consumer bank in Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific across 17 countries, leading the global product development function to provide software and support services to all markets. And, in March of 2021, he became a member of the John Hancock Board.
Shamus was an Advisory Board Member at Singapore University of Technology and Design in 2016 and holds a patent for Methods for Global Payments Processing.
He has a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Notre Dame.

Rahul Hora
President & Chief Executive Officer
Rahul Hora is President and Chief Executive Officer of Manulife Philippines.
As President and CEO, Rahul is responsible for the development and execution of Manulife's strategy in the Philippines, supercharging the business so we can continue making every day better for more Filipinos.
Hora is an insurance industry veteran, having taken on various sales and distribution leadership roles in operations, agency, and bancassurance across geographies. He joins Manulife from another multinational insurance company, where he held distribution roles at market and regional levels, and most recently led their life and non-life insurance operations in the Philippines.
Justin Helferich
Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Financial Officer, Justin leads the optimization of Manulife Philippines’ financial strategy and performance, including revenue generation, capital management, and solvency. Helferich has been with Manulife since 2010 and has held progressively more senior roles in the United States and Asia. Before his most recent appointment, Helferich served as Chief Executive Officer of Manulife Cambodia, where his resilient and determined leadership helped maintain the company’s strong market position.
Sailesh Nalinakshan
Chief Agency Officer
As Chief Agency Officer, Sailesh is responsible for empowering and further scaling Manulife’s trusted, empowered and growing agency force, anchored on strategies that bolster initiatives on digitalization, sales and productivity, talent recruitment and development, training and data analytics-based planning and decision-making.
Prior to joining Manulife Philippines, Sailesh was with Manulife Asia's Distribution Team and based in Hong Kong, responsible for Strategic Management and Planning for Regional Distribution. He also spent more than a decade of insurance industry experience having worked for for two other multinational companies in Asia.
Sonali Verma
Chief Marketing Officer
Sonali has more than 18 years of leadership experience in bank partnership, customer experience, and digital innovation across Manulife and Citibank. She has demonstrated a proven track record of delivering results, including in the Manulife-DBS digital channel and the first digital protection solution with Techombank in Vietnam.
As Chief Marketing Officer, she drives innovative marketing strategies and customer propositions that will bolster our brand reputation and industry leadership, and maintain our NPS growth trajectory. She also plays a key role in enabling and empowering our sales teams with dynamic and data-driven marketing campaigns and initiatives to increase lead generation, propel business growth, and help achieve our bold ambition to become the most digital, customer-centric global company in our industry.
Fritzie Tangkia-Fabricante
General Counsel
As General Counsel, she advises the company on various legal matters and identifies legal wrisks and issues relative to the company's intended actions. Fritzie advises the executive team on a multitude of strategic and operational matters, ensuring all business decisions are legally sound and align with the company’s risk appetite.
Fritzie has been a member of the Philippine bar for nearly 20 years now. Her professional experience includes corporate counseling and commercial practice, including heading the legal services group of a universal bank.
Fritzie completed her law degree at the University of the Philippines and her Political Science degree at the Colegio de San Juan de Letran, Summa Cum Laude. She placed 9th in the 1999 bar examinations.
Candy Suarez
Chief Risk Officer
As Chief Risk Officer, Candy is responsible for overseeing action plans, acting as a strategic partner to the business, and ensuring proper identification and mitigation of company risks.
Candy first joined Manulife as Chief Financial Officer for its Philippine business in August 2017. In 2021, she moved to the Manulife Emerging Markets team, where she led In-force and Expense Management. Before joining Manulife, she was with another life insurer where she headed its Actuarial Division that included research, product development, and valuation. Candy has over 27 years’ life insurance industry experience.She is a Fellow of the Actuarial Society of the Philippines and a Fellow of the Life Office Management Association.
Grace Mallabo
Chief Health and Products Officer
As Chief Health and Product Officer, Grace drives three key areas of the organization: Health strategy, product proposition development and management, and inforce management. She also leads initiatives towards creating the company's best-in-class product portfolio, as well as customer lifetime value through strategic inforce management initiatives.
Grace has 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, with various leadership roles in Product Management and Marketing, Health Business and Strategy. More recently, she has led the e-Commerce Business and Digital Marketing of another local insurer. She holds a Business Economics degree from the University of the Philippines.
Ardhi Lufti Siregar
Chief People Officer
As Chief People Officer, Ardhi drives Manulife's culture, talent strategy, and employee engagement, oversees talent retention efforts, and works to strengthen diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization. Ardhi leads ongoing initiatives to attract and retain top talent, building a winning team that can help accelerate Manulife's goals for its customers and other stakeholders.
Ardhi brings extensive leadership experience from across the banking, technology, and insurance industries, including his prior role as CHRO of Manulife Indonesia. Before joining Manulife Philippines, his most recent position was as Head of Human Resources for Manulife Business Processing Services in Quezon City, Philippines. In this role, he led the HR team in supporting the ongoing transformation of Manulife's global business services, in partnership with the MBPS leadership.
Ardhi holds two Master's degrees -- Executive Master of Business Administration on Strategic Management from Prasetiya Mulya Business School, Jakarta, Indonesia; and Master of International Human Resources Management from the University of Essex, Colchester, United Kingdom.
Adnelle Valeza
Chief of Staff, Strategy PMO & Transformation
Adnelle M. Valeza is Manulife Philippines’ Chief of Staff, Strategy, and Transformation. In this role, Adnelle is responsible for strategy, PMO, and transformation initiatives across the organization.
Adnelle has nearly three decades of international leadership experience across transformation, technology, and distribution. Her career spans both established corporations and start-up environments, where she has consistently delivered double-digit growth, led large-scale digital transformations, and built scalable sales and operational strategies. Most recently, Adnelle served as SVP, Business Strategy and Transformation Head at a leading Philippine-based life insurer, where she developed strategic roadmaps for non-Bancassurance channel expansion and led the company's digital transformation initiatives. Prior to that, she held several senior executive roles at a multinational insurer, where she led regional M&A projects and digital strategy programs across Southeast Asia.

Aira Gaspar, CFA
President and Chief Executive Officer / Director
Aira Gaspar is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Manulife Investment Management and Trust Corporation (Manulife IM (Philippines)). She is responsible for the strategic management and operations of the Company to deliver sustainable growth for its investment management franchise.
Prior to becoming President and Chief Executive Officer of Manulife IM (Philippines), Ms. Gaspar was the Chief Investment Officer of Manulife Philippines, where she was responsible for the development and implementation of overall investment strategies for the Philippine-based investment portfolios of Manulife.
Previously, she was with SGV & Co ("SGV"), a member firm of Ernst & Young Global, where she provided assurance services to a range of institutions with specific emphasis on firms engaged in the business of life insurance, manufacturing and utility services.
Ms. Gaspar graduated with Distinction from the Philippine School of Business Administration with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, major in Accounting. She is a CFA charterholder and a Certified Public Accountant.
Jean Olivia De Castro
Head of Fixed Income
Jean De Castro is Head of the Fixed Income of Manulife Investment Management and Trust Corporation (Manulife IM (Philippines)). She is responsible for the management and investment performance of fixed income portfolios.
Prior to joining Manulife IM (Philippines), she was AVP and Fixed Income Portfolio Manager of Manulife Philippines. She has more than 16 years of work experience in the asset management industry. Previously, she was with BDO Trust and Investments Group and Deutsche Bank AG Manila Trust Department, managing the portfolios of retirement funds, pre-need, insurance and other corporate funds.
Ms. De Castro holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, major in Development Studies from the Ateneo de Manila University.
Zedric Matubis
Head of Wealth Sales
Zedric Matubis is the Head of Wealth Sales of Manulife Investment Management and Trust Corporation (Manulife IM (Philippines)). He is responsible for building a strong wholesale and product specialist team to support key strategic distribution partners and channels.
Prior to joining Manulife IM (Philippines), he was Vice President of Manulife Philippines, where he helped conceptualize retail and institutional distribution strategies for wealth products. He has more than twenty years of experience in retail banking and wealth management. He was Vice President and Head of Retail Sales of Philam Asset Management. He also worked for Philippine National Bank as a Senior Assistant Vice President and Area Head for key business districts, and as Assistant Vice President and Head of Business Development for the Retail Banking group of Citibank, NA.
Mr. Matubis is a Chartered Wealth Manager, a Registered Financial Planner, an SEC-Certified Fixed Income Salesman and an SEC-Certified Investment Solicitor. He was a scholar of the Philippine Science High School. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of the Philippines-Diliman, where he was a Department of Science and Technology scholar, graduating magna cum laude.
Gerlie Aman
Head of Operations
Gerlie Aman is the Head of Operations of Manulife Investment Management and Trust Corporation (Manulife IM (Philippines)). She is responsible for driving and optimizing operational performance and efficiency, ensuring that operational processes are sound, customer-centric, scalable, and aligned with regulatory requirements and the Company's strategic priorities.
She concurrently held the role of Treasurer of Manulife IM (Philippines) for six years, during which she was also responsible for the effective and transparent management of the financial affairs and records of the Company.
Prior to joining Manulife IM (Philippines), she was the Head of Investment Operations and Accounting of Manulife Philippines, where she maintained efficient and effective internal control framework for investment operations. She has more than 20 years of experience in trust operations having worked as the Accounting and Reports Division Head of BDO Private Bank – Wealth Advisory and Trust Group and Deputy Operations Head of Deutsche Bank Trust Department.
Ms. Aman holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, major in Accounting from Colegio de San Juan de Letran. She is a Certified Public Accountant.
Jones Mark L. Chan, CPA
Treasurer and Head of Finance
Jones Mark L. Chan is the Treasurer and Head of Finance of Manulife Investment Management and Trust Corporation (Manulife IM (Philippines)). He is responsible for the effective and transparent management of the financial affairs and records of the Company, including management and oversight of all finance obligations, and compliance with regulatory and statutory reporting requirements.
Prior to joining Manulife IM (Philippines), he was the head of Citibank’s Local Regulatory Reporting Unit and responsible for all Philippine bank regulatory submissions. He also held various roles in JPMorgan as Operations Control Manager; and BDO Private Bank as Head of Wealth Advisory & Trust Accounting Division, and Dual Unit Head of the Bank’s Regulatory Reporting and FP&A. He was also an auditor at SGV & Co (a member firm of Ernst & Young) and KPMG in New York and Cayman Islands offices, specializing in banking, hedge funds and private equity entities.
A Certified Public Accountant, Mr. Chan holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy degree from the University of Santo Tomas.
Stanley Raymund Cabrera V, CFA, FRM
Risk Officer
Stanley Raymund V. Cabrera V is the Risk Officer of Manulife Investment Management and Trust Corporation (Manulife IM (Philippines)). He is responsible for maintaining the Company’s risk management framework, balancing all stakeholder needs and interests, and ensuring that the risk management framework is efficient, practical and consistent with the Enterprise Risk Policy of the Manulife Group while remaining compliant with regulatory requirements.
Before joining Manulife IM (Philippines), he was the Investments Risk Officer of Manulife Philippines, where he worked on strengthening the risk management framework for investment operations. He also held various risk positions, as well as investment roles at BDO Private Bank, where he helped develop and formalize the risk management framework of the bank’s trust business.
Mr. Cabrera graduated cum laude from the University of the Philippines with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Accountancy in 2002. He is also a graduate of the U.P. College of Law and completed his Juris Doctor in 2012. He is a CFA charterholder, a Financial Risk Manager (FRM) and a Certified Public Accountant.
Abigail Marie D. Salud
Head of Compliance
Abigail Marie D. Salud is the Head of Compliance of Manulife Investment Management and Trust Corporation (Manulife IM (Philippines)). She is responsible for managing the compliance risks associated with the Company’s fiduciary and investment management activities and providing compliance guidance that meets regulatory requirements and balances risk mitigation and business objectives. She is also responsible for the effective implementation of the Company’s Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Prevention Program in accordance with BSP regulations.
Prior to joining Manulife IM (Philippines), she was the VP Compliance Officer and Head of Internal Audit of Philippine Commercial Capital Inc. where she developed, formalized and led the compliance and audit functions. She has more than twenty years of work experience in compliance, audit and accounting. Previously, she held senior accounting and audit positions at Philam Life Philippines and PricewaterhouseCoopers, respectively.
Ms. Salud holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from De La Salle University. She is a Certified Public Accountant.
Paul Jeffrey Lu, CFA
Head of Wealth Solutions
Paul Lu is the Head of Wealth Solutions of Manulife Investment Management and Trust Corporation (Manulife IM (Philippines)). He is responsible for the development of new products and collaboration across the organization to identify opportunities and enhancements that will strengthen distribution potential across different channels. He is also responsible for all offshore feeder funds, including the management of cash flows and speaking for those strategies in support of distribution.
Before joining Manulife IM (Philippines), he held various roles as portfolio manager and equity analyst of Manulife Philippines. He was also an equity analyst at COL Financial Group (formerly CitisecOnline.com, Inc.). During his tenure, he helped expand the firm’s research coverage in the consumer and utilities sectors.
Paul holds a Bachelors degree in Management Engineering from the Ateneo de Manila University. He is a CFA charterholder.

Kah Siang Khoo
Chairperson
Kah Siang Khoo was appointed Chairperson of Manulife Philippines in April 2025. He is the CEO, Emerging Markets and is also a member of Manulife’s Asia Executive Committee and Global Leadership Team.
Before his appointment as CEO, Emerging Markets, Kah Siang served as the General Manager of Manulife Singapore, where he was responsible for growing and strengthening the Manulife franchise in Singapore. Prior to this role, he held regional and in-market positions with Great Eastern Life and the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
With over 25 years of experience in the financial services sector, Kah Siang has held numerous industry positions, including President of the Life Insurance Association, Board Member of the Singapore College of Insurance, and Member of the MAS Financial Centre Advisory Panel. In 2015, he was conferred the prestigious Distinguished Fellow by the Institute of Banking and Finance Singapore. Currently, he serves as the Chairperson of the inaugural Singapore Insurance Culture and Conduct Steering Committee, focusing on elevating standards of culture and conduct within the insurance industry. Kah Siang is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in the United Kingdom and holds a Doctorate in Statistics from the University of Kent, Canterbury, in the United Kingdom.
Rahul Hora

Rahul Hora is President and Chief Executive Officer of Manulife Philippines. He was elected to the Board in 2022.
As President and CEO, Rahul is responsible for the development and execution of Manulife's strategy in the Philippines, supercharging the business so Manulife can continue making every day better for more Filipinos.
Hora is an insurance industry veteran, having taken on various sales and distribution leadership roles in operations, agency, and bancassurance across geographies. He joins Manulife from another multinational insurance company, where he held distribution roles at market and regional levels, and most recently led their life and non-life insurance operations in the Philippines.
Conrado Favorito

Conrado Favorito is an Independent Director of Manulife Philippines, Manulife Financial Plans, Inc., and Manulife China Bank Life Assurance Corp. He was first elected as director of the Company in April 2018.
He is currently the CEO-President and Chief Consultant of his company, Mr. Fave Management Training & Consulting Services. He acts as his company’s Management Consultant, TQM & ISO 9001 Adviser, Keynote Speaker, Trainer for Webinars and Seminars, and Book Editor. Likewise, he serves as a consultant/ adviser of Inkwell Publishing Co., Inc., VFP Business Support Services, Inc., and Blue Macay Food Manufacturing Group. He is also an accredited speaker/ trainer/ consultant of South East Asia Speakers & Trainers Bureau Inc., Ariva Academy, and SMESoft.
Conrad holds a Pre-Divinity/Philosophy degree from the Ateneo de Manila University and a Master in Business Management degree from the Asian Institute of Management.
Maria Theresa Quirino

Maria Theresa Quirino is an Independent Director of Manulife Philippines, Manulife Financial Plans, Inc., and Manulife China Bank Life Assurance Corp. She was first elected as director of the Company in December 2023.
Tere has over 35 years of work experience in public financial management reforms and banking operations (asset and liability management, treasury and treasury operations, and risk management). She has worked for 10 years with the various projects of multilateral and bilateral agencies (Asian Development Bank, DFAT/Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade by the Australian Government and USAID) as consultant/adviser on various government reforms in the areas of budget and treasury management, public debt management, tax administration, procurement, and domestic resource mobilization.
Prior to this, Tere worked with the Development Bank of the Philippines for over 15 years, last holding the position of Senior Executive Vice President and Treasurer/CFO.
Tere holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Wilton Kee

Wilton Kee is the Chief Financial Officer of Manulife (International) Limited. As a member of Manulife Hong Kong’s senior management team, Mr. Kee oversees the company's financial functions including financial reporting, planning and control, capital management and planning, asset-liability management, treasury and other finance-related matters.
Mr. Kee has solid experience in actuarial pricing, financial reporting and risk management, both in Hong Kong and Japan. He spent the earlier part of his career in the Asia regional office of a leading international insurance group.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Hong Kong and is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) of the United States. He has also attained the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designation issued by the Global Association of Risk Professionals and holds a Certificate in Quantitative Finance (CQF).
Anne Maree Tassell

Anne Maree Tassell is the Chief Operations Officer of Manulife Asia and helps drive Manulife’s growth strategy and digital transformation in the region.
Anne-Maree joins Manulife from Citi, where she held leadership roles across Australia, Hong Kong and the UK. Most recently, Anne-Maree was the Head of Operations and Technology for Citi’s Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) markets, responsible for overseeing and managing Citi’s operations and technology infrastructure across multiple products, shared services and infrastructure support.
A global operations executive with more than 30 years’ experience in financial services, Anne-Maree has a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams across Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East, and Africa. She will play a pivotal role in shaping Manulife’s customer-facing operations, including straight-through processing and automation, to ensure that Manulife continues to make decisions easier and lives better for customers across Asia.

Gianni Fiacco, CPA, CA
Chairman of the Board
Located in Hong Kong, Gianni is the Head of Emerging Markets & Chief Strategy Officer for Manulife’s Wealth and Asset Management businesses in Asia. He oversees the Wealth & Asset Management emerging market businesses of Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam as well as being responsible for the development and implementation of business strategies to deliver on the company’s growth objectives across Asia.
Prior to joining Manulife Investment Management (Asia), Gianni served as Regional Controller, Asia for Manulife Financial, where he was accountable for financial and management accounting, planning, forecasting and analysis as well as tax and internal controls related to finance across Asia. Before joining Manulife, Gianni worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in their Audit and Assurance Services group.
Gianni holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Toronto and is a Chartered Accountant (Canada).

Aira Gaspar is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Manulife Investment Management and Trust Corporation (Manulife IM (Philippines)). She is responsible for the strategic management and operations of the Company to deliver sustainable growth for its investment management franchise.
Prior to becoming President and Chief Executive Officer of Manulife IM (Philippines), Ms. Gaspar was the Chief Investment Officer of Manulife Philippines, where she was responsible for the development and implementation of overall investment strategies for the Philippine-based investment portfolios of Manulife.
Previously, she was with SGV & Co ("SGV"), a member firm of Ernst & Young Global, where she provided assurance services to a range of institutions with specific emphasis on firms engaged in the business of life insurance, manufacturing and utility services.
Ms. Gaspar graduated with Distinction from the Philippine School of Business Administration with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, major in Accounting. She is a CFA charterholder and a Certified Public Accountant.

Elvin Tharm

Elvin Tharm is currently Senior Managing Director, Head of Retirement Proposition, Asia Retirement, of Manulife Investment Management. He is responsible for creating the strategic vision for the retirement business across the Asia markets, leading the design and development of country-level retirement business propositions across products, investment platforms, distribution channels, and digital solutions.
Prior to joining Manulife, Elvin was the Head of Business Development and Client Relationship for Mercer Hong Kong’s Wealth business. He was responsible for bringing together pensions and investment solutions for institutional investors (pension funds, insurance companies, endowment funds, MNC firms) and wealth management intermediaries (banks, private banks, investment funds platforms) in Hong Kong, Singapore, Macau, and Taiwan.
Before that, Elvin held several senior positions with Principal Financial Group in Hong Kong and prior to that, a consultant with Towers Watson in Los Angeles, California and subsequently in China covering Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen and Guangzhou.
Elvin graduated from the University of Iowa with a master’s degree in Actuarial Science and the Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and the Actuarial Society of Hong Kong.
He also serves as the Chair of the Business and Strategy Sub-committee and a Taskforce member of the Cross Straits Pension Forum of the Hong Kong Retirement Schemes Association (HKRSA).
Atty. Rene Betita

Atty. Rene B. Betita is a part time faculty at De La Salle University and the College of St. Benilde, where he teaches subjects in the fields of finance, law and economics. He is also a faculty member of the Trust Institute Foundation of the Philippines, a school for professionals in the banking, insurance and regulatory agencies.
He has more than 20 years experience in the trust banking industry mostly in account management and marketing. His last bank employment was as Vice President and Head of Trust of Maybank Philippines Inc. He also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Trust Officers Association of the Philippines.
Atty. Betita earned his law and economics degrees from the University of the Philippines in Diliman and passed the Bar in 1985.
Raul C. Diaz
Independent Director
Raul C. Diaz has had extensive experience in Trust and Investment Management, having served in various capacities as Marketing Officer, Portfolio Manager, and Trust Officer. Overall, he has spent more than thirty (30) years in the trust business, twenty three (23) of which as Trust Officer. As an active practitioner in the trust industry, Raul has served as Director of the Trust Officers Association of the Philippines (TOAP) for several terms as well as Chairman of various TOAP Committees over the years. He was elected TOAP President in March 2008, a position he held for a term of one (1) year. Having retired, he presently serves as Member of the TOAP Advisory Board.
Mr. Diaz graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with a degree in Commerce, major in Banking and Finance. He also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the De La Salle University. As part of training in Trust, he also took up the one-year Trust Course offered by the Trust Institute Foundation of the Philippines, the educational arm of the TOAP.
