Hi, I'm Kate Sarmiento

Early on in my corporate life, working for Chevron and Nestle Philippines, I realized that I was not meant for an 8-to-5 job. I wanted to be able to work without having to stay in one place for too long. And so I decided to resign and work for our family business. I also pursued my passion for fashion, taking up courses at the Fashion Institute of the Philippines and establishing my online clothing line.

Things were going well, and I wasn't really looking for a new opportunity. That was until I was invited to attend a Manulife Career Orientation Program by my then mentor and unit head. Then my entire outlook changed!

Right then and there, I joined Manulife full-time. I wanted to help people prepare for a better financial future by becoming a financial advisor myself.

Six years later, in 2017, I was given a chance to build my own team as an agency leader. Since then, I’ve come a long way. Now, I invite friends and clients who have become friends to join Manulife. I’ve also helped mold the lives of my teammates, passing on to them the skills and knowledge needed to make them successful financial advisors as well.

Through this journey, I was also able to find my purpose -- to secure the lives of my family and my clients, and to change the lives of my teammates as a Manulife financial advisor and agency leader.
