Manulife App Terms and Conditions
Updated as of March 12, 2026
A. Ownership
1. The Manulife App is owned and operated by The Manufacturers Life Insurance Co. (Phils.), Inc. (“Manulife PH”) and Manulife Investment Management and Trust Corporation (“Manulife Investments”), each of which is a corporation duly organized and existing under the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, with its principal office at 10th Floor NEX Tower, 6786 Ayala Avenue, Makati City, Philippines.
Manulife PH and Manulife Investments (collectively, "Manulife") are each recognized as Personal Information Controllers under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and its implementing rules and regulations.
Manulife PH is regulated by the Insurance Commission of the Philippines (IC), while Manulife Investments is regulated and supervised by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).
2. Manulife App allows you to access your Manulife account(s) online through the following:
- Web Service. A browser-based platform accessible at online.manulife.com.ph; and
- App Service. A mobile application available for download on iOS and Android devices through authorized app stores.
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to enhance functionality, improve your browsing experience, and personalize content.
3. These Terms and Conditions, including our Manulife Privacy Policy and Notice, apply to both the Web Service and the App Service, which are collectively referred to as the “Services”.
These Terms govern your use of the Manulife App, including the in-app features that integrate Manulife Investments’ iFUNDS, and how we will manage your account while you are enrolled in and using the Services.
Any reference to the Manulife App in these Terms refers to the Services as a whole, unless a provision expressly states otherwise.
If you have any questions about these Terms, feel free to contact us.
4. Manulife shall provide you, subject to these Terms, with the online services provided under the Manulife App.
a) The availability of the Services enables the following:
i. Unified Platform Access. A simplified and consolidated platform management that allows customers of both Manulife PH and Manulife Investments to access and view their accounts using single sign-on credentials; and
ii. Investment Information Access. While using the Manulife App, Manulife PH customers may be redirected to Manulife Investments public website or its Unit Investment Trust Funds (UITFs) to learn more about investment options and how to grow one’s wealth.
b) Personal data will be processed only for as long as necessary to fulfill the declared purposes, comply with legal obligations, or support legitimate business needs. Upon termination of your account or the Services, your data will be securely deleted or anonymized, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
c) The use of the Manulife App may involve the sharing of data between Manulife PH and Manulife Investments to ensure seamless service delivery. No additional personal data will be collected beyond what is necessary to provide and maintain the Services.
5. Please read these Terms carefully. By signing up for or using the Services, including by entering your username and password to access it, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you are signing up for the Services on behalf of a company or other entity, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to agree to these Terms on its behalf.
6. Unless the context otherwise requires, the term "You" as used in these Terms refers to any person or entity that holds or is otherwise associated with a policy, plan, or an account with Manulife, and includes:
a) The account holder or policyowner, whether an individual, partnership, company, corporation, or other unincorporated body of persons;
b) Any successors-in-interest, including your personal representatives, beneficiaries, heirs, executors, liquidators, administrators and permitted assigns; and
c) In case of a joint policy, plan, or account, all joint policy owners or account, who shall be jointly and severally liable for all transactions, instructions, and activities effected through the Services.
7. You acknowledge that Manulife may, at its sole discretion and with or without notice, modify, suspend, discontinue, or impose restrictions on the Services at any time, including but not limited to:
a) The scope, content, or availability of the Services or any part thereof;
b) Transfer or switching limits for fund transactions;
c) Restrictions on the use of the Service; and
d) Service hours and any daily cut-off times for transactions.
Any instruction received by Manulife after any applicable daily cut-off time shall be deemed received on the next business or dealing day. Manulife may define “business day”, “dealing day”, and daily cut-off time at its discretion.
8. Unless otherwise stated, business day(s) refer to Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays and days when Manulife is closed for business for any reason.
9. The Service is provided as an additional service and is not a substitute for other methods of delivering instructions or effecting transactions. If the Service is not available for any reason whatsoever (whether or not within the control of Manulife), you agree that you shall have no claim against Manulife and will use other available means to deliver instructions or complete transactions.
10. Manulife may modify or update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Manulife App or the Services, applicable legal or regulatory requirements, or evolving security, operational, or business practices.
B. Access to and Use of the Services
- To use the Service for the first time, you must register for the Service in the manner specified by Manulife and confirm your acceptance of these Terms.
- You are responsible for any costs related to obtaining, maintaining, or configuring the software, device, and equipment needed to access this Service.
- The Service is for your sole and exclusive use. Manulife employees, agents or representatives cannot act as your agent to access or operate the Service on your behalf.
- Any exchange rates, interest rates, prices, or other information provided by Manulife are for reference only and are not guaranteed and binding.
- All services and information are provided to you on an "as is" basis, without any warranty or condition of any kind, whether expressed or implied.
C. Suspension and Termination of the Service
1. By using this Service, you agree to (a) be bound by and comply with obligations under relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions on preventing and suppressing the proliferation or financing of weapons of mass destruction, including actions related to freezing and unfreezing assets and prohibitions on transactions with designated persons and entities; and (b) accept that your Manulife PH policy contract or business relationship with Manulife may be terminated if you fail to comply with Manulife’s Customer Due Diligence requirements or applicable Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing laws and regulations, in accordance with IC’s Circular Letter No. 2019-65 and applicable BSP regulations, as may be amended from time to time.
2. Without limiting other provisions of these Terms, Manulife may immediately and without notice terminate the Service if:
a) A change in law makes it illegal to maintain or operate your policy, plan, or account;
b) You breach any obligation under these Terms that Manulife considers a material default; or
c) Manulife's records show that your policy, plan, or account has been terminated.
3. Access to the Service is at Manulife’s sole discretion. Manulife may suspend, terminate or cancel the Service, in whole or in part, at any time without notice or explanation.
4. You may request to suspend or terminate the use of the Service by providing prior written notice to Manulife. Manulife will process your request as soon as practicable after receiving your written notice. Please note that any instructions or transactions submitted before the approval of your request may still be processed and will remain your responsibility.
5. The provisions of these Terms, to the extent permitted by the applicable law(s), will survive the termination of any contract with Manulife.
D. Your Instructions
- Information about your policy, plan, account or transactions shown in the Service is for reference only. Manulife's official records will prevail unless proven otherwise.
- Instructions are considered received only when submitted in a manner prescribed by Manulife and after Manulife has actually received them.
- Once an instruction is received and processed by Manulife in good faith, it may be irrevocable and binding on you. You are responsible for ensuring that all instructions are authorized, accurate, and complete. This applies even if the instruction was submitted by someone using your account without fault on the part of Manulife.
- Manulife will process your instructions as soon as reasonably practicable. However, Manulife is not liable for any loss or delay caused by unclear or incomplete or inaccurate instructions, or if instructions are submitted after the daily cut-off time set by Manulife.
- Any instruction you submit operates as a request by you for Manulife to act on it. Manulife may decline instructions that would result in your fund account becoming overdrawn, or if your account is on hold, frozen, dormant, or for any other reason Manulife considers reasonable.
- If Manulife suspects a security breach or unusual activity related to your account or the Service, Manulife may delay or refuse to act on your instructions and/or suspend your account at Manulife’s sole discretion and without liability. Where possible, we will inform you promptly.
E. Your Obligations and Liabilities
- You are responsible for keeping your username and password confidential and for activities under your account. You agree to ensure that all information you provide to Manulife is accurate, complete, and kept up-to-date at all times, including your address and other contact details.
- You represent and warrant that your use of the Service complies with all applicable laws and regulations. You must not use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or discriminatory purposes, or any purposes which Manulife may consider detrimental to the Company brand or reputation, nor allow anyone else to do so. You agree to notify Manulife immediately if you become aware of unauthorized use of your account. Manulife is not responsible for losses caused by stolen or hacked passwords. For security reasons, Manulife cannot access your current password and may only reset it.
- You acknowledge that you use the Service at your own risk. Any investment-related information provided is for reference only. Seek independent professional advice before making decisions based on such information.
- You have the right to access the Service under these Terms, but no other rights, titles, or interests are transferred to you. You agree not to claim ownership or act in a way that suggests such rights, and you agree to respect Manulife’s proprietary rights in the Service and related software, including patents, trademarks, trade secrets, copyrights and other intellectual property.
Manulife does not arbitrate disputes over account ownership. Do not request access to accounts or information that do not belong to you; any account-related disputes must be settled directly with the other party. Manulife will determine account ownership based solely on its official records.
- When submitting information or data to Manulife through the use of the Manulife App, you agree to prevent computer, electronic, or other similar viruses of any kind or harmful code from entering Manulife’s system, any other related systems, servers or facilities.
- You must not attempt to decompile, reverse-engineer, translate, convert, adapt, alter, modify, enhance, add to, delete, tamper with, or gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or any software used in its operation.
- Except as provided in Clause E.8, you are fully liable and responsible for all consequences arising from or in connection with the use of the Service, whether by you or anyone else, authorized or not.
- If, after investigation, Manulife determines that there was no negligence, fraud, or fault on your part, you will not be liable for losses caused by unauthorized transactions.
- You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Manulife, any member of the Manulife Financial Group, and their respective officers, directors, employees and representatives from any and all liabilities, actions, suits, claims, demands, charges, expenses, losses, damages, and costs (including, without limitation, legal fees on a full indemnity basis) arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.
- You are solely responsible for transactions with your external providers (e.g. internet service providers, credit card companies, or other third parties) used in connection with the Service. You agree not to involve Manulife in any dispute with such providers and to hold Manulife free and harmless from related claims.
F. Responsibilities and Liabilities of Manulife
- Manulife will take reasonably practicable steps to ensure its systems supporting the Service have adequate security measures to control and manage the risks in operating the systems. However, Manulife is not liable for any failure of the Service, in whole or in part, or inability to access it, whether due to circumstances within or outside the control of Manulife.
- Manulife will take reasonable steps to keep information provided through the Service accurate and updated. However, Manulife is not liable for any loss arising from reliance on information that may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, Manulife and the Manulife Financial Group of companies, is not liable for any direct, indirect, consequential, or special loss or damage (whether foreseeable or not) arising from your use of the Service or related information. This includes issues caused by using incompatible devices or devices with security vulnerabilities. If you choose to access the Service through an unsupported device (such as Android devices), you acknowledge that Manulife provides no official support and you waive any claims against Manulife and any member of the Manulife Financial Group, related to such use. You agree that such exclusions of liability are fair and reasonable.
- You understand that transmitting instructions or information over the Internet may be subject to delays, interruptions, or errors due to its public and open nature. Manulife is not responsible for any loss or damage resulting from these risks or from communication failures beyond its control.
- The Internet is not a fully secure communication channel, and your privacy and confidentiality cannot be guaranteed. Your use of the Service (including any information you upload) may be assessed or monitored by others. Manulife is not liable for any harm or loss arising from these risks.
G. Communication
- Manulife may prescribe, from time to time, the form and channel for any notices under these Terms, without creating any duty of care on Manulife.
- Manulife shall not be liable for any loss or damage if you choose to communicate confidential or personal information or sensitive personal information to Manulife by electronic means (such as electronic mail) or if we respond in the same way at your request or as a reply to your communication.
- You must promptly notify Manulife of any changes to your contact details. Notices will be effective when sent to you to your last known email or physical address on record or posted on the Site. Communications will be deemed delivered to you as follows: (a) if delivered personally, at the time of such delivery; (b) if sent by mail, upon deposit in the mail; (c) if sent by electronic means, at the time the electronic message is transmitted.
H. Privacy
1. The collection and processing of your personal information in connection with the Service shall at all times be subject to the Manulife Corporate Privacy Policy, Manulife PH Privacy Policy and Notice, and the Manulife Investments Privacy Policy (collectively, “Manulife Privacy Policy and Notice”), which you acknowledge and consent to during policy application and account registration. Such collection shall be for the purposes relevant to the provision of financial, retirement fund, insurance, and health services (as applicable). Failure to provide required personal information may delay or prevent Manulife from delivering or providing the related services to you. Manulife Privacy Policy and Notice forms an integral part of these Terms.
2. You acknowledge and consent that your personal information may be collected, used, processed, stored, and disclosed by Manulife PH and Manulife Investments individually, in accordance with their respective privacy policies, and collectively, to the extent necessary to provide, support, and administer the Services.
3. You acknowledge and agree that Manulife may, from time to time, use the information you provide for the purpose of direct marketing communications relating to insurance and health products, provident funds and/or schemes, UITFs, wealth management services, other financial products or services, as well as reward, loyalty or privilege programs and related offerings.
Such direct marketing communications shall be limited to the use of the following data only (a) your name; and (b) your contact information, including but not limited to your mobile phone number, landline number, email address, and residential address or place of location.
You further consent to receive notices, announcements and offers through email, mobile, or telephone calls from Manulife or its authorized third-party service providers.
4. You have the right of access to and for correction of your personal information by emailing the Data Protection Officer of Manulife PH at PHDataProtection@manulife.com or the Data Protection Officer of Manulife Investments at ph_dataprotection@manulifeam.com, as applicable.
5. All paragraphs under this Privacy section shall be deemed incorporated into all relevant forms or any other information collection methods that may exist from time to time. You shall indemnify Manulife for any failure to comply with this provision or with any other provisions within these Terms.
6. Manulife may record all telephone calls in connection with the Service. Such recordings shall be used for training and quality control purposes and, if necessary, as evidence in legal proceedings.
7. In the event of a security breach that may affect you, Manulife will notify you of the breach and provide a description of the incident in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
I. Linked Websites
- Manulife may provide hyperlinks on the Manulife App Site that direct you to websites or apps operated by third parties or non-Manulife entities for information purposes or to facilitate request intake. For any requests submitted through such linked websites, you are responsible for complying with all applicable requirements, including Manulife’s security standards and any relevant third-party security policies.
- Manulife does not control, endorse, or guarantee the content, security, or availability of these linked websites. Manulife and no member of the Manulife Financial Group shall be liable for any loss or damage arising directly or indirectly (including consequential loss) from your access to, use of, or reliance on the content or services provided on such third-party websites.
- The inclusion of any hyperlink does not constitute or imply any endorsement, approval, or recommendation by Manulife. Access to and use of any linked website is at your own risk and is subject to the terms and conditions applicable to such website.
J. Downloading
Manulife does not guarantee that the contents of the Service or any information, data, or program that may be downloaded from the Manulife App are error free or that the Service or server(s) operating it are free of viruses or other harmful components that may adversely affect your hardware, software, or equipment. Any information, data or program downloaded from the Manulife App may be subject to additional or separate terms and conditions.
K. Waiver
No act, delay, or omission by Manulife shall affect its rights, powers, or remedies under these Terms, nor shall it operate as rights, powers, and remedies. The rights and remedies provided under these Terms are cumulative and not exclusive of any rights or remedies provided by law.
L. Governing Laws
The Service and these Terms shall be governed by the applicable laws of the Republic of the Philippines. You hereby consent and agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Makati City, Philippines, in any action or proceeding arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of the Services.
M. Governing Terms and Conditions
- These Terms supersede any prior terms and conditions, representations, arrangements or understandings, whether verbal or in writing, except that they may be supplemented by or made subject to further or special terms and conditions applicable to any particular aspect, medium, format, type of transaction, or part of the Service that may exist from time to time. In case of any inconsistency, such further or special terms and conditions shall prevail.
- All transactions entered into pursuant to the instructions given to Manulife through the Service shall be subject to these Terms, as well as the applicable Manulife process, procedures, and requirements, and the policy contract or account terms governing such transactions as prescribed by Manulife PH or Manulife Investments, as applicable, and as may be amended from time to time. These shall include, without limitation, Manulife Privacy Policy and Notice, Security Information, and Legal Notices posted on the Manulife App and in the Manulife public websites.
In the event of any inconsistency between these Terms and the governing documents for a specific product or account, the policy contract (for Manulife PH customers) or the Participating Trust Agreement (for Manulife Investments customers), as applicable, shall prevail.
N. Amendments
- These Terms were last updated as of March 12, 2026. Manulife may revise or add to these Terms at any time. The revised or additional terms shall become effective when displayed, advertised, or otherwise brought to your attention in any manner Manulife deems appropriate, and shall be binding upon you if you continue to maintain or use the Service after the effective date.
- Amendments of these Terms shall not affect any accrued rights or liabilities of either you or Manulife or any member of the Manulife Financial Group.
O. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held illegal, invalid, or unenforceable under the laws of any jurisdiction, such provision shall be given effect to the fullest extent possible, and the legality, validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
P. Copyright
All the content, information, and trademarks on the Manulife App or on the Service are protected by copyright or other intellectual property rights. Any use, publication, copying, distribution, tampering with, or exploitation of such content is strictly prohibited.
You agree that any proprietary subject matter or intellectual property resulting from or related to your use of the Service, its e-services and other facilities, including but not limited to applications, programs, web pages, solutions, marketing materials, audio or visual presentations, and any other items that may be assigned, registered, transferred, owned, or encumbered shall be the sole property of Manulife. To the extent that such any proprietary subject matter or intellectual property is deemed to belong to you or to jointly belong to you and Manulife, you hereby irrevocably assign and transfer to Manulife, without further consideration, all rights, title, and interest therein, including all intellectual property rights.
Q. General Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Manulife makes no warranty, express or implied, regarding the Service, including but not limited to warranties of accuracy, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Manulife shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with your access to or use (or inability to access or use) the Service, including but not limited to:
- Direct, indirect, incidental, special, punitive, exemplary, or consequential losses or damages;
- Loss of data, business, revenue, profits, goodwill, or anticipated savings;
- Any damage to your hardware, software, equipment, or other property resulting from viruses, malware, system failures, or other harmful components;
- Any errors, omissions, interruptions, delays, or failures of performance of the Service;
- Any content, services, or materials provided by third parties, including linked websites or third-party service providers.
R. Manulife PH Products and Services
The Insurance Commission, with offices in Manila, Cebu and Davao, is the government office in charge of the enforcement of all laws related to insurance and has supervision over insurance companies. S. Manulife Investments Products and Services
Manulife Investments products and services are trust and/or investment solutions. They are NOT DEPOSIT products and are not insured by the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC), nor guaranteed by Manulife Investment, its parent company, or any of its affiliates. These products do not provide guaranteed returns or yields.
The performance of the funds and their underlying securities is not guaranteed, and the value of the funds may fluctuate and may be worth less than your original investment. Any gains or losses resulting from market fluctuations or price volatility, including those involving government securities, shall be for your sole account.
Past performance, when presented, is for reference purposes only and is not indicative of future results. Manulife Investment shall not be liable for any losses, except those arising from its gross negligence, willful fraud, or bad faith committed by its officers, employees, or authorized representatives.

Additional Security Measures
1. Firewall
Manulife employs an industry-standard firewall systems to protect Manulife infrastructure from unauthorized or untrusted network access.
2. Secure Website
The Manulife customer website is Verisign Certified.
Our official website is https://www.online.manulife.com.ph.
To protect against phishing attacks, users must access their Manulife account only through Manulife links and should avoid accessing the Manulife App or Services through third-party or suspicious links.
3. Authentication
Authentication ensures that only authorized users can access the Manulife App and its Services by verifying the identity of the user using prescribed login information and authentication tools.
4. Encryption
Encryption protects personal information by making it unreadable to authorized parties. Manulife uses SSL (Secured Socket Layer) to ensure your online transactions are encrypted. SSL is a cryptographic protocol that provides security and data integrity for communications over networks such as the internet.
Undertaking
You voluntarily submit your personal information to Manulife for use in connection with your Manulife transactions and in compliance with applicable laws, including, but not limited to, the Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA), as amended, and its rules and regulations. You undertake to promptly submit any changes or updates to your personal information.
As an additional security measure of the Manulife App, an approval code is required for any change or update to your personal information. You further undertake to employ reasonable means to ensure the security of your transactions.
By enrolling in and/or using Manulife App, you agree to be bound by the applicable Manulife Privacy Policy and Notice. Manulife may amend, modify, or supplement the Manulife Privacy Policy and Notice from time to time. You agree to regularly check your email and the Manulife website for any updates to the Manulife Privacy Policy and Notice. Continued use of the Manulife App following such updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised or modified Manulife Privacy Policy and Notice.
The Manulife Privacy Policy and Notice shall be read in conjunction with the Manulife App’s Terms.
Internet Insurance Arrangements and Policy
Information submitted through the Manulife App in connection with requests or transactions may pass over public networks. Such information must be protected from fraudulent activity, contract dispute, and unauthorized disclosure and modification.
The following control activities define the security measures in place to safeguard information submitted through the Manulife App.
- Security requirements for confidentiality, integrity, proof of dispatch and receipt of key documents and the non-repudiation of contracts must be determined and met to ensure that submitted information for requests or transactions is conducted in a secure manner.
- Electronic commerce arrangements between trading partners must be formalized and documented.
Online Transactions
Information involved in online transactions must be protected against incomplete transmission, misrouting, unauthorized message alteration, unauthorized disclosure, unauthorized message duplication or replay.
The following control activities provide security measures for submitted information for requests or transactions within Manulife App.
- Electronic signatures must be used by each of the parties involved in the transaction.
- User credentials of all parties must be validated and verified.
- Online transactions must remain confidential.
- Privacy of all parties involved in the transaction must be retained.
- Communication paths between all involved parties must be encrypted as per Manulife cryptographic standards.
- The protocols used for communication between all parties must be secured.
- Transaction details must be stored outside of any publicly accessible environment.
Available Information in Manulife App
The integrity of information being made available on Manulife App is protected to prevent unauthorized modification.
The following are some control activities which provide security for available information within Manulife App.
- Manulife data and software requiring a high level of integrity are appropriately secured.
- The Manulife App is tested for vulnerabilities and failures prior to any information being made available.
- Any information that will be made publicly available must be formally approved.
- Any personal or sensitive information generated by the user while logged in Manulife App is protected during collection, processing and transmission.
- Access to Manulife App does not allow unintended access to other connected Manulife networks.
By continuing to use the Manulife App, the Services, and its integrated features, you acknowledge and agree to the Terms and the linked Manulife Privacy Policy and Notice. Continued use of the Services after any updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
