Change insured person

This option enables you to apply to change the Life Insured of your policy.

What you need to know

This option is available for policies with the following riders or features:

For Traditional insurance policies

  • Parent’s Option (PO) rider: Allows the Policyowner to change the Life Insured to the designated child.
  • Keyman Replacement Option (KRO) rider: Allows the Policyowner to change the Life Insured to another key individual.
  • Change of Life Insured Option: Enables the Policyowner to change the Life Insured to anyone with an insurable interest.

For investment-linked policies

  • Parent’s Option (PO) rider: Allows the Policyowner to change the Life Insured to the designated child.
  • Keyman Replacement Option (KRO) rider: Allows the Policyowner to change the Life Insured to another key individual.
  • Change of Life Insured Option: Enables the Policyowner to change the Life Insured to anyone with an insurable interest.
  • Life Replacement Option (LRO): Allows the Policyowner to change the Life Insured to anyone with an insurable interest.

Instructions

  1. Download and complete Section 5E of the Policy Details Change Form (opens in a new tab).
  2. Submit the Insurance Application Form*.
    *Note: Your Representative will assist you in the submission of this form and any additional requirements (if applicable).
  3. Submit a copy of both sides of the new insured’s Identity card or Passport.
  4. Make a payment of the Administrative fees of S$100. 
  5. Submit reports of any other medical examinations that may be required by the underwriter.
  6. Upload the completed form, along with any supporting documents (if applicable), to our customer portal, MyManulife or via the Manulife SG App (refer to steps below).
  7. Alternatively, you can mail the completed original hard copy form to the following address:

FAQs

 

1. Log into your account via MyManulife or the Manulife SG App.

2. Click on "Services".

3. Under "Upload Forms", click on "Other Transactions". Follow the instructions on the page to submit the completed form.

For non-trust policies:

  • The Assignee or Policyowner must sign the form.

 

For Trust policies under Section 132 of the Insurance Act (formerly known as S49L):      

  • The Policyowner and any one Trustee who is not the Policyowner, or     
  • All Beneficiaries who are at least 18 years old must sign the form.
  • If any Beneficiary is under 18 years old, a legal guardian or parent who is not the Policyholder can provide consent.

 

For a Trust policies under Section 73 of the Conveyancing and Law of Property Act:      

  • The Policyowner and all Trustees, or    
  • All Beneficiaries who are at least 21 years old must sign the form.
  • If any Beneficiary is under 21 years old, a legal guardian or parent who is not the Policyholder can provide consent.
