Building strong, resilient communities together

Manulife makes decisions easier and lives better. One of the ways we do that is by investing in programs that motivate and empower people to make informed choices that help them live longer, healthier, more financially secure lives. Our focus areas:

Healthy, active living

We believe healthy living is essential to a long and happy life. With a focus on prevention, we support innovative health and wellness initiatives that inspire people to be physically active and eat healthy, well-balanced diets.

Financial well-being

Feeling in control of your financial future is an important part of overall well-being. We support sustainable initiatives that empower people to gain the knowledge, skills and experience they need to achieve long-term economic success.

The MLK Scholars program is a unique cross-sector collaboration – through John Hancock, we partner with the City of Boston, Boston University, The Boston Globe, and Partners HealthCare to empower Boston’s next generation of community and business leaders. 2018 marked the 11th consecutive year in which we awarded more than US$1 million in grants through the program to provide 635 Boston teens with summer jobs at 65 non-profit organizations, and employed 17 teens onsite at our Boston offices.
