September 25, 2019

Montreal – Manulife Bank announced today that it will be the exclusive banking services partner for the Laval Rocket during the 2019-2020 season. Manulife Bank will be present at all home games at Place Bell in Laval, where fans can play games and win prizes while learning more about the innovative banking services that Manulife Bank offers Quebecers, such as its new, one-of-a-kind All-In Banking Package.

“Just like savings, hockey is part the lives of many generations of Quebecers,” said Richard Payette, President and CEO, Manuvie Québec. “Our association with the Laval Rocket is an excellent opportunity to promote healthy living through physical activity and the importance of maintaining good financial health using simple tools on your smart phone. Here’s wishing the Rocket a winning 2019-2020 season.”

Manulife Bank has developed intuitive tools, built into its new Manulife All-In Banking Package, to help Canadians save and better manage their money. These tools include the Savings Sweep feature, which automatically moves extra money from the everyday banking account into the savings account at the end of each day; it also displays information about expenses, savings and account balances all in one place.

“Our organization is pleased to partner with Manulife Bank for the 2019-2020 season,” stated Mark Weightman, Vice-President, Development and Operations, Laval Rocket and Place Bell. “Just like the Rocket, Manulife Bank is a young, innovative and dynamic organization dedicated to winning over the trust and loyalty of Quebecers.”

Manulife Bank will be present at all Rocket home games at Place Bell starting on October 4. Throughout the season, fans can drop by to play games, win prizes, and find out more about Manulife Bank’s various offers.

About the Laval Rocket

The Laval Rocket Hockey Club is a Canadian professional ice hockey team based in Laval, Quebec. The team serves as the primary affiliate of the NHL’s Montreal Canadiens in the American Hockey League (AHL). Since it was first established in 2017, the club plays its home games at the newly inaugurated Place Bell in Laval. The Canadiens’ primary development club hoisted the trophy while in Nova Scotia (1971–72, 1975-76, 1976-77), in Sherbrooke (1984-85) as well as in Hamilton (2005-06). Carey Price, Phillip Danault and Brendan Gallagher are among the players who completed their development with the team’s AHL affiliate before being promoted to the National Hockey League with the Canadiens.
